Rock Quarry Group Campsite is open year-round and is a limited development campsite. It offers a private space for a group of up to 35 people. Amenities include a pavilion-covered picnic area with tables and an accessibility ramp, a grill, trash receptacle, vault toilet, and a campfire ring. By reservation only, no less than three days in advance.
No Physical Address. This is the address for park headquarters.

Site can be reserved for up to 14 days. Reservations must be made at least three days before date needed and no more than six months ahead of time. There is a $10 cancellation fee and additional fee for late cancellation (after midnight on the first day booked).
Make a Reservation →From the Amistad National Recreation Area Visitor Center, turn right (west) onto Highway 90. Travel approximately 4.4 miles until you reach a large gravel pullout/parking area on the righthand side of Highway 90. There is an approximately 4-inch drop from Highway 90 onto the gravel apron, so plan accordingly for entering and exiting Highway 90. Campsite sign and gate are on the right side of the apron to back. Gate combination provided upon successful reservation. GPS Coordinates: 29.498524, -101.043784
The climate at Amistad is semi-arid in moisture and subtropical in temperature. Humidity is more often high than low, with periodic morning fog. Summers are long, hot, and frequently humid; winters are mild and vary between sunny, warm, cloudy, and cool weather. Generally flat but uneven, hard-packed soil can be rolled over, though may be difficult during rainstorms. Ramp available for picnic pavilion and vault toilet access.
Service is usually pretty good but may on occasion switch to Mexican communications companies (thus international rates may apply).
Fire only allowed in fire ring and provided grill.

Accessible to all, though ground may be bumpy. Be cautious during rainfall or with standing water. NOTE: There is about a 4-inch drop from Highway 90 onto the graded gravel apron on way to campsite. Plan accordingly when exiting or entering Highway 90. Consider your own comfort/experience and vehicle capabilities in navigating this with your vehicle and/or trailer.
