Zion National Park

Large vehicle restrictions come into effect on June 7, 2026

Beginning June 7, 2026, the park will enforce existing size and weight limits on the Zion-Mt. Carmel Highway. Vehicles that exceed length, width, height, or weight limits will not be allowed to travel between Canyon Junction and the park's East Entrance. See the upcoming limits on the page linked below.

The Virgin River Narrows closed to top-down travel

The Narrows are closed to top-down travel (from Chamberlain's Ranch to Big Spring) due to increased water flow from a snow melt event. The Narrows are open to bottom-up travel between the Temple of Sinawava and Big Spring.

Bacterial levels in water samples taken from Arizona Hot Springs exceed Local, State and National Park Service standards for recreational activity. The unpaved Elephant Hill Access Road and Cave Spring Road, and associated parking lots, will close temporarily for necessary road maintenance on March 26, 2026. The roads and parking lots will be closed to all uses until the work is complete, which should be later that same day.
