Gulf Islands National Seashore's Davis Bayou Campground offers tent and recreational vehicle camping experiences in a wooded area next to Davis Bayou in Mississippi. Campground office hours are 8 am to 4 pm Tuesday through Saturday.

Hours

This campground is open year round. The campground office hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The gate into the Davis Bayou Area closes at sunset year round. Check-in is after 1:00 p.m. and check out is 12:00 p.m.

Directions

From Interstate 10: Take Exit 50 or 57 toward Ocean Springs. The area entrance is located at the intersection of U.S. 90 and Park Road, three miles east of downtown Ocean Springs, Mississippi.

Weather

The hot-season lasts for approximately four months, from mid-May through the end of September. Average daily high temperatures during this season exceed 84°F. Daily low temperatures during this season average 77°F. The cool-season for park lasts approximately three months, December through February. All roads are paved and each campsite features a paved pad.

In developed campgrounds fires may be built in permanent grills (charcoal only) or fire rings at designated sites. Exception: Portable grills may be used at designated campsites by registered campers. Portable grills are not allowed on the beaches unless in an area where authorized beach fires are allowed.
